Bennington Center for the Arts
Located on Gypsy Lane at VT. 9 (just west of downtown Bennington). 802-442-7158. Visit the Covered Bridge Museum with exhibits on engineering, history, railroading, nature and interactive kiosk to help you discover the remaining Vermont covered bridges. Working covered bridge railroad layout, 3-D models and dioramas. Small theatre offeres a documentary on the history of covered bridges.
Bennington Potters
Tour the factory, shop in the Potters Yard Store and take a walking tour of downtown Bennington's historic pottery sites starting at Bennington Potters. Don't miss this great shopping destination!
Park~McCullough House, North Bennington
Open mid-May thru mid-October by guided tour. Built in 1865, this Second Empire "summer cottage," is one of the finest Victorian mansions in New England. It was home to two Vermont Governors, and its 35 rooms retain many original furnishings. The grounds include a scale-model playhouse, original carriage barn with carriages, gardens, and a Victorian grapery. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1972. Robert Frost Stone House Museum, Shaftsbury
Only minutes away from Frost's gravesite in Bennington's Old First Church Cemetery, this is Vermont's tribute to America's favorite poet, Robert Frost. Open mid-May thru mid-October. Admission charged. Phone 802-447-6200.

Flag Acres Zoo
Open mid-May thru mid-September & Weekends in October (weather permitting) - Lions, tigers, zedonk, monkeys, cavy, elk, bison, aoudad and over 200 animals for all to see!! Annual Mayfest Arts Festival
Annually, on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend on Main Street, downtown Bennington; 10am--5pm (free). Just 3 blocks' walking distance from the Bennington Motor Inn; free admission. Consistently, 8,000 people come to town to enjoy the festivities! It's a (juried) craft show, a large open-air eatery with diverse menu, a chance to fund raise for non-profits, a place to enjoy street entertainment with more than 150 crafters and food vendors. Prospect Mountain is only 8 miles east of us and offers wonderful cross country trails. Major alpine slopes are up to only 40 minutes away ~ Mt. Snow just east of us, and Bromley & Stratton, just north.
